What a journey this project has been.
This project started in mid December 2017, when I was 8 months pregnant and has only just finished now. My beautiful baby girl is now 2 months old.
Here is a run down of the idea process, time frames and costings as well as lots of photos.
In the first meeting with J&T Allan we discussed what was important to them, what they wanted to keep and what they were happy to part with.
Using this information I came up with three designs to show them at the next meeting.
A detailed pack was given for each design. From these three we decided on a final look.
Points of change
- timber flooring in dining
- new carpet in lounge
- style change to balustrade
- new lounges
- recovering dining chairs
- paint both rooms and entrance
- recover pelmets
- wall lights, lamps and pendant
- mock wall to house a new gas log fireplace
- cabinets either side of mock wall
- recover tub chairs
This project should have, in normal circumstances taken 6-8 weeks. The Allan’s were very gracious to allow the extended time for this project.
I think you will agree that with the changes made have brightened the rooms, as well as given a more contemporary look whilst still incorporating the existing jarrah furniture.
